Founded in 2017 by Nana Ama Ampomah, Amonu embodies the essence of creativity, quality, and dynamism in every handcrafted creation. Our journey began with a passion for chocolate and a commitment to showcasing Ghana’s rich cocoa heritage to the world.
Our Story
Amonu, derived from the Akan name Gyamfua, symbolizes strength in leadership, creativity, dynamism, and charisma. Nana Ama Ampomah, alongside her daughter Amonu, embarked on the journey of “chocopreneurship,” fueled by a shared love for chocolate and a vision to create something truly exceptional. Guided by our values of creativity, quality, and dynamism, we set out to produce and market premium chocolate bars, truffles, and confectionaries, each infused with locally sourced fillings and flavors.
Craftsmanship and Tradition
Based in Accra, our artisanal chocolates reflect the diverse flavors and cultural richness of Ghana. From dark chocolates to milk chocolates, infused with ginger, lemon, coffee, peanut, and coconut blends, each product is meticulously crafted to deliver a symphony of flavors that captivate the senses. Our commitment to promoting Choco-tourism is evident in our packaging, delicately wrapped and adorned with select Akan Adinkra symbols, each design intricately linked to Ghanaian culture and heritage.

Our mission is twofold: to establish a presence in select retail and tourism outlets locally, thereby promoting awareness and appreciation for our products, and to expand our export footprint in the near term, sharing the taste of Ghanaian excellence with the world.
